Reflecting on the PETA fiasco

When Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 were released, PETA jumped at the opportunity to ride on Pokemon's coattails by making a grotesque, obscene and innaccurate parody of the games. Now I'm not going to go on about how angry I was at PETA (enough people have voiced more or less similar opinions) but one thing I do remember was how so many people cited Ash's actions in the anime as an example of what Pokemon was all about. The funny thing was, they brought up those same examples in the past when they wanted to talk about how stupid Ash was.
